Little Chime privacy policy

Effective October 16, 2026

Summary

Little Chime is a baby log that keeps everything on your iPhone. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app makes no network requests and does not send your records to us or anyone else.

What we collect

Nothing. The developer receives no data from the app. What you enter — your child's nickname and optional photo, care entries, times, amounts and notes, plus your unit, appearance, log button and Lock Screen photo preferences — is stored only in the app's storage on this iPhone. If you take a photo in the app, the camera is used only for that picture, and only a small square copy is kept.

How your log is stored

The log is a database inside the app. iOS protects it with file encryption tied to your passcode, and it becomes readable after you first unlock the phone after a restart. Little Chime is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.

Lock Screen and Dynamic Island

While a sleep, breastfeeding or pump timer runs, a Live Activity shows the start time and elapsed time on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island; the breastfeeding timer also shows which side is in use. The sleep timer can show your child's nickname and photo, where anyone holding the phone may see them. To show it, the app keeps a small copy of the photo in a folder on this iPhone that only Little Chime and its Lock Screen display can read. You can turn the photo off in Settings → Photo on Lock Screen, and turn Live Activities off in iOS Settings.

Device backups

iCloud Backup or a computer backup of this iPhone may include the log, under the terms of that backup service. Deleting the log in Little Chime does not remove copies already in those backups.

Files you export

CSV exports and JSON backups are created only when you ask. JSON backups include the photo; CSV exports don't. They are not encrypted. Where you save or share them — Files, iCloud Drive, another app or another person — is your choice, and that destination's privacy terms apply.

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete all data on this iPhone removes your child's profile, photo, names, notes and entries from this phone. Minimal identifiers and deletion dates remain so a future version can recognise deleted records. Deleting the app removes everything stored by the app on this phone.

Children

The app is used by parents and caregivers. It collects no information from or about anyone, including children, beyond what stays on your phone.

Changes and contact

If a future version adds sharing between caregivers or any other data transfer, this policy will be updated before that version is released and the change will be explained in the app. Questions can be sent through the support link on Little Chime's App Store page.
