Where does my data live?
Your log is stored on your iPhone, inside the app. Little Chime works offline and makes no network requests. You can also save your own backup files.
How do I back up my log?
In Settings, under Backup, tap the backup row (it shows when you last backed up), then Save JSON backup file and save it through Files, for example to iCloud Drive. This is a full backup that you can restore later, including on a new phone.
How do I restore a JSON backup?
In Settings, choose Restore from a backup, or tap I have a backup during setup, and select your backup file. Review the incoming and existing logs before confirming. You can back up your current log first.
Restoring replaces your current log; it does not merge the two. If the backup includes a running sleep or unfinished nursing timer, you’ll be asked how to handle it.
How do I export a CSV?
In Settings, choose Export CSV and save the file through Files. It includes your whole log. CSV is for reading your entries in a spreadsheet; it cannot be restored into Little Chime. Use a JSON backup to restore your log.
Do I need an account? Can I sync with someone else?
No account or sign-in is needed. Little Chime currently keeps one child’s log on one phone. There is no sync or shared caregiver logging yet.
Are my exported files encrypted?
No. JSON backups and CSV exports are unencrypted. You choose where to save or share them; saving to a cloud destination may move a copy off your phone.
